New York

Today was a bonus day. After successfully taking a flight 8 hours before our original flight, we arrived into NY and had 12 hours to explore the city.  We took a bus/subway combo and arrived at time square in less than an hour. As it was Amanda’s first time to the city, the bright lights, screaming cars, and unique aromas filled her with excitement. We aimlessly roamed and got a New York style – tomato, mozzarella, and basil pizza. Delicious!! Next, we made our way to time square and ate an apple in the Big Apple… how cool are we?? Everyone was taking pictures of us..

“Wow look at that cute couple,”

“That is soo smart,”
"Are they royalty?”….
Flashes filled times square with us at the center.. We are kinda a big deal.

Next we saw Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patricks Cathedral, Trump Tower (Look for Amanda on ABC jumping and waving behind the news reporter discussing Trumps politic antics), and walked down 5th Ave (huge shopping street) to Central Park. We roamed around for a bit, but soon took a train to the financial district. We saw Wall St. NY Stock Exchange, Ground Zero, and the Statue of Liberty. Had a late lunch/early dinner (Amanda wanted a farewell American meal, a bison burger from Burger Burger did the trick (so good) and Steven – Chinese). We took the train to JFK and now are waiting for our red-eye flight to Manchester. Ian (ex FSU swimmer) will be hosting us for the weekend. Should be fun. We are pretty tired (we keep laughing at each other because we can't finish a sentence without yawning) but overall, a great a bonus day!
